After yet another cracking sale for the native breeds, the Beef Shorthorns have averaged £4991 for 71 sold. Having just caught up with breed secretary I think, like us, he’s a little bit in awe of the day’s trade. “We’ve never had a day like it in the breed. It’s not just that the prices have been up at new levels, we’ve had a tremendous clearance as well and a lot of new commercial producers committing to the breed.”
