A patchy run of trade in the senior bulls has reflected the quality, or in some cases lack of it, on offer. There is no doubting that the seniors will do a job for many herds, but anyone wanting to breed quality calves will doubtless have picked themselves something from later in the catalogue.
The next notable price was a 4500gns for Oakchurch Flipper from Jeremy Price. This Rawburn Enigma son is out of Southfield Fortuna, a Dalrence Cruz daughter and has a TSI of +28 and an SRI of +30. He went to Mr Reid, Perth.
Collecting a 5200gns call next was Netherton Kingpin, a first prize winner from the McLarens. This Mr Eshton son is out of Netherton Karama, a The Moss Florian daughter and has a TSI of +37 and an SRI of +43.
The Massies then recouped some of their earlier outlay when selling Blelack Kentucky Lad (lot 186) at 4000gns. This Peter Pershore son is out of Blelack Karama Lady D026, a Blelack Blackstock daughter. He sold with TSI of +39 and an SRI of +52.
