Today’s sale of Holstein bulls for the Western Holstein Club at Beeston saw a top call of 4100gns paid for Alderbarrow Lightzan from B and L Whitfield and Son.
This MD-Delight Durham son is out of Alderbarrow Goldwyn Zandra, a Goldwyn daughter which gave more than 11,500kg in her second lactation. He goes back to Woodmarsh Zoey, an EX90 classified Comestar Outside daughter.
Second best was a 3700gns bid for the pre-sale champion, Peter Waring’s Winton Black Ink, a Ridgefield Matter son out of Tonian Spirte Inksou, a Cedarwal Sprite daughter with a heifer lactation of more than 8000kg.
Then making 2900gns was Aintree Nibs from Aintree Holsteins. This Cogent Maestro son is out of Aintree Sam Nugget, a Regancrest –MR Durham Sam daughter.
A pair then sold at 2700gns, with the first being Cassia Exclamation from Roston Partners. This Allyndale-I Attic son is out of Sterndale PS Ghost, a Shottle daughter which gave more than 11,000kg in her heifer lactation. The other at this price was Lillyhall Supreme from A and C H Watson. Sired by Charlesdale Superstition he is out of MS Goldwyn Bria, a Goldwyn daughter.
Heifers
The heifers on offer today topped at 3600gns for Cottonabbots Fever Zindra from C E Walley. This Crackholm Fever daughter is out of Coxongreen Drake Zindra, a Far O La Debbie daughter which have more than 13,000kg in her first lactation.
Following that at 2800gns was Tynevalley Wardle Million Peach from Cameron Baty. This England Ammon Million daughter is out of Bricknell Gibson Peach, an Ex93 classified Silky Gibson daughter.
And at 2600gns was Lillyhall Lou Tart from the Watsons. This is a Jenny-Lou Marshall daughter out of Sunny-Hillview Roy Toxic, an Ex92 rated Roylane Jordan daughter.
