Trade for Limousin females in Newark this afternoon is just as strong as the bulls with the top price so far being 4500gns for the first prize January 2010-born Cockleshell Flake from the Pitcher family. By Winnington Trumps, she is out of the Grahams Samson daughter Cockleshell Vendee and carries a beef value of +30. She sold having been served to Grahams Elliot to Roger Turner, who has bought quite a few of the females on offer so far today.

Next at 3900gns was Lowgate Flora from Ian Brown. By Maraiscote Cyclone, this May 2010-born heifer is out of the Bailea Ulsterman daughter Coachhouse Catherine and carries a beef value of +25. She was knocked down to Gerald Ketley and Family, while at 3500gns the Pitchers were back in selling Cockleshell Vanessa, a March 2004-born cow by Mynach Raver out of the Haltcliffe Handsome daughter Cockleshell Jane. She sold with a Winnington Trumps-sired heifer calf at foot and having been served to Grahams Elliot.

At 3200gns Cockleshell Velvet, a March 2004-born cow with Winnington Trumps bull calf at foot sold to Messrs Trafford. This one is by Mynach Raver again and out of another Haltcliffe Handsome daughter, this time Cockleshell Lycia.
