Leading the Simmental trade so far at Carlisle today is the the day’s male champion Messrs’ Currie’s July 2010-born bull Braegarrie Bravo 10, a Woodhall Premier son out of Braegarrie Vanessa, a Gretna House Supersonic daughter. He has a TSI of +60 and an SRI of +56. He sold at 7900gns, finding a new home with A and E Paton and Son, Girvan.
Second best at 5500gns was the first prize winner from the second bull class Swingletree Buster from J A Tallentire. This Popes Laird son is out of Swingletree Liberty, a Brooklyn Jonti daughter. He sold with a TSI of +72 and an SRI of +83. He was knocked down to K Preston, Stow, Galashiels.
Then making 5200gns was Braegarrie Barclay 10 from Messrs Currie. This Corskie Regal son is out of Braegarrie Pernilla, a Whitemere King Kong daughter and went with a TSI of +60 and an SRI of +58. Buying this one was James Burns, Kilbachan.
At the same price was Simply Courageous, the third prize bull from class two. He’s a Seaview Tommy son out of Carberry Pippa, a Receview King daughter and has a TSI of +67 and an SRI of +67. He sold to T J Neill, Mindrum.
Following that were a pair at 4600gns. The first of these was Urrvalley Billy from Peter Brown. This Glenturk Wizard son is out of Urrvalley Wendy, an Urrvalley Robroy daughter. He sold with a TSI of +63 and an SRI of +61. This one found a new home with T and S Barker, Canonbie.
The other to fetch this price was the last of the bulls on offer Beechtree Banker. This Keeldrum Schubert son is out of Beechtree Princess, a Balmanno Horatio daughter and has a TSI of +53 and an SRI of +50. Taking this one were J B and E J Peile, Wigton.
And at 4200gns was David Loftus’ Blackpool Brian. An Omorga Volvo son he is out of Blackpool Tessa, a Blackford Nobleman daughter and has a TSI of +74 and an SRI of +84. Brian was bought by Messrs McDowell and Co, Glen Luce.
