Today’s All Blacks sale of black Limousin heifers from the Knock and Turville herds here at Carlisle today has seen a top call of 6800gns.

This top price was paid for one from Albert Howie’s Knock draft, Knock Black Farmgirl, a Newhouse Billy daughter out of Knock April, a Sympa daughter, which sold to Neil Barclay.

Second best was Knock Black Firstlady, another Billy daughter, this time out of Shannas Uriel, a Ronick Jalopy daughter. And at 5500gns was Knock Black Fanfare, another by Billy and out of Knock Blossom, a Middledale Slogger daughter. both of these sold to a Welsh vet Esmor Evans, Mold.

At 4500gns was Knoc.k Black Friesia, a Billy daughter out of Knock Anna, another Slogger daughter. She sold to Messrs Adam, Lochgilphead And just behind her at 4200gns was Knock Black Fivestar, another  by Billy and out of Slogger daughter Knock Constance. She sold to Robert Graham.

Making 4000gns was Knock Black Fairlie, a Billy daughter out of Willowcrest Calibre daughter Redpaths Onair. This one also sold to Esmor Evans. While selling for 3800gns was the first in the ring Knock Black Fern. Sired by Goldies Vegas she is out of Newhouse Utopia and also sold to Robert Graham.

Best of the sale from the Turville herd was a trio of 2800gns calls. First at this money was Turville Black Gabby, a Thornham Vulcan daughter out of Turville Dundee, a Turville Viper daughter. She sold to Andrew Ewing. Then at the same money was Turville Black Gantry, a Tamarvalley Bojewyan daughter out of Turville Caroline, a Hafodlas Vino daughter.

Third to take this price was the last of the sale Turville Black goddess, another by Vulcan out of Turville Davina, another by Vino.

Averages; Knock Herd 12 heifers £4116.67,  Turville Herd 17 maiden heifers £2029.41 (Harrison and Hetherington).
