The spies are out in force this evening and results are just in from Worcester’s Premier Charollais sheep show and sale and taking the male championship under judge Willie Ingram is David Curran, Brecon, with Wernfawr Maximum, a December 2011-born lamb by Glantren Legen out of a Wraycastle Dai Hard ewe.
Standing reserve male champion was Myfyr Evans with Rhaedr Mark, a Ballyhibben Klass single ram lamb out of a Southam Easyrider dam which was purchased for 3000gns at the Penrhos dispersal.
Taking the red ticket in the first class of the day, the shearling tups was Myfyr Evans with Rhaeadr Legend (lot 28). This is by Ballyhibben Klass Act and out of a Parkgate Hurricane dam.
Standing second in this class was Bachmybyd Lightning from T H Roberts. He’s a son of Crogham Hanniabal II out of a Penrhos Drummer dam. And third spot went to John and Anne Griffiths.
In the second class of the day, the recorded shearling ram class the winner was Foulrice Lorenzo (lot 15) from Charles Marwood. This is by Castellau Krypton and out of a dam by Ash Charollais Filibuster. Standing second here was another from the same home, Foulrice Lawrence (lot 17), again by Krypton he’s out of a Foulrice Gallant daughter.
Third place went to Cecil Thomas with Wolston Lenny, a Dalby Kracked-it son out of dam by Rockvilla Golden Promise.
The first of the ram lambs classes for lambs born from 1-9 December was won by the eventual reserve male champion, Rhaeadr Mark, with Ffrwd Madison from Dewi Pritchard Evans in second. And third place went to Tilton Magican (lot 207), a Kings Land Kruger son.
Taking the honours in the second lamb class, that for lambs born after 9 December, was Kings Land Mr Muscle from Peter Vaughan. this is by Penrhos Ibanez and out of a Galtres Dominator sired dam. Then following on in second was Artnagullion Mustang from William McAllister, this is by Ballyribben Kickstart, third place went to Esmor Evans with his first lamb by Gyffin Knockout.
The day’s final lamb class, the recorded lamb class, was won by David Curran’s eventual champion, Wernfawr Magnum, with Tim Prichard’s Castellau Majestic in second place, with this being a Castellau Lord of the Manor son. Third in the class was Castellau Millionaire from the same home.
In the first female class the top spot went to Paul Amphlett with his first gimmer (lot 375), a Langstone Fan Fare daughter. Second went to Jennifer Curtis with her second ewe, an NE9185 daughter. And in third in this class was one from David Curran (lot 352) and by Artnagullion Jose.
The ewe lamb class was won by and Ibanez daughter from D P Jones (lot 385), with Peter Vaughan’s ewe lamb by Southam Eros (lot 387) in second and another from the same home (lot 388) and this time by Southam Easy Rider in third.
