Apologies for a slight intermission in the news from Worcester today, it’s been one of those days! Anyway, here’s the latest news as we know it.

Topping the trade at 7800gns was Gregor and Bruce Ingram’s lamb Loanhead Midas Touch. This Crogham Haniball II son is ET bred out of Dalby Hyacinth, a 4200gns dam by Foulrice Garcia.

And at 5600gns was Logie Durno Magnum from Willie and Carol Ingram. This D327154 son is out of a homebred dam by Rockvilla Golden Promise.

Selling for 5200gns was the pre-sale champion David Curran’s Wernfawr Maximum, a December 2011-born lamb by Glantren Legen out of a Wraycastle Dai Hard ewe.A 4000gns bid secured Rhaeadr Midas, the reserve male champion from Myfyr Evans. This is by Ballbibben Klass Act and out of a dam by Galtres Fortune.

Making the same money was a shearling tup from the same home, Rhaeadr Lord. Sired, by Klass Act again he is out of a Parkgate Hurrican daughter.

And continuing a good day’s trade for Myfyr was a 3600gns call for Rhaeadr Mark, another by Klass Act and out of a 3000gns Southam Easy Rider daughter.

Despite trade looking a little more selective than in previous years the average in the tup lambs actually rose by £23 with three more lambs sold than last year. However the shearling tup average slipped  by £200 for 27 less sold on the year, possibly reflecting a reduced commercial demand at the sale.

Averages; 47 shearling tups £1088,  159 tup lambs £1119; 25 shearling ewes £874 and 10 ewe lambs £528 (McCartneys).

That’s all I have for now I’m afraid, but hopefully I’ll have a full price list either tomorrow or first thing Monday and some photos too.
