The McLaren family’s Netherton herd of Aberdeen-Angus have completed another successful private sale, selling Netherton Kentucky L596 for an undisclosed five figure price to Schivas Estate Ltd, Aberdeenshire.
The January 2011-born Kentucky is sired by the Netherton, Balmachie and Saville stock bull Netherton Big Edition H460 whose progeny have helped win the Walkers Show Herd of the year last year for Netherton and is also the sire of the champion pair and group of three at the Royal Highland Show for the past two years.
He is out of the 2011 Fife and Dunblane Show champion Netherton Karama E368 who was then sold for a five figure price to the Saville herd.
Kentucky is regarded by Netherton as the best son to date of Big Edition and was calf champion at Perth Show last year and reserve male Champion at Angus Show as well as being a member of our winning pair and group of three at the Highland this year. His performance is also impressive being in the top 1% for 400 day growth, 2% for terminal Index, 5% for 200 day growth and 10% for Self Replacing Index.
