Taking the commercial beef championship at Great Yorkshire today was pure Limousin heifer Hightown Fantasy from Jennifer Hyslop and Andrew Richardson. This October 2010-born heifer is by Brontemoor Andover daughter and is out of Newsham Nina. She was bred by John Smith-Jackson and was bought for £2000 at Hexham last March.

She was shown weighing 630kg and was reserve overall commercial champion at the Highland last month and a member of the Duke of Norfolk winning team at the East of England Smithfield Festival last year.

Standing reserve overall was the steer champion Suarez from Neil Slack and Julie Sedgewick. This Rossignol son is out of a Limousin cross dam and weighed in at 540kg.

Reserve champion in the heifers were Trevor and Jonathan Lyons with their British Blue cross heifer, while reserve in the steers was Matthew Jones with his Limousin cross Jackpot by Fieldson Alfy.
