Sheep judging has only just been completed here at the Royal Welsh this evening, with the Beltex the last breed to finish. Taking the Beltex championship was the Roberts family with their aged tup Match Playboy, with the second prize aged tup and reserve male champion from J McAcree standing reserve. This one is Sunday Julip.

The Bluefaced Leicester championship was won by Michael James with his aged ewe, with Michael also taking the reserve with his shearling ewe.

In the Charmoise Hill Sheep, the champion was an old ewe from Emyr Roberts, with the reserve championship going to J Walsh and E Roberts, with their shearling tup.

And in the Southdowns the champion was Tomos Llwyd Ellis’ aged tup, with Messrs Wakeham-Dawson and Harmer’s shearling ewe standing reserve.

Taking the Welsh Half-Bred championship was R A George’s shearling ewe, with E A Price’s shearling ewe standing reserve.

The Zwartbles champion was the ram from Grinnal Clay Farm Partnership, with S and S Murray Farms in reserve with their ram. Derbyshire Gritstone honours were taken by S and P Scrivin’s ram lamb.

Champion in the Welsh Hill Speckled Face was T and B Evans’ shearling ewe and reserve was R T Richards’ ram lamb.
