Top spot in the National Hereford Show staged at Tenbury Wells went to Clive Davies’ five year old bull Westwood Director.

Director followed in the footsteps of his successful sire Westwood Advancer who was the 2009 National Horned Show supreme champion and former ‘Horned Bull’ and ‘Bull of the Year’ in the same year. He is out of Westwood Biddy 102.

Standing reserve overall was the intermediate and overall female champion Clipston Pansy M9 from R & R Westaway and shown by Les Vestey. Twenty two month old Pansy, is by Churchill Storm and out of Clipston Pansy S30.

Taking the reserve male championship honours was the junior male champion, Andrew Owen’s 11 month old Church Preen JR. This one is  son of Hermitage Commando, the Royal Welsh champion.

Reserve female tickets were claimed by the reserve intermediate female championship, Haven Dowager 169 from E L  Lewis and Son. There was more success for Dowager 169 as later in the day she was crowned Horned Female of the Year 2012.

Taking the day’s reserve senior male title was Haven Governor, jointly owned by breeders E L Lewis and Son, and Messrs Spooner. Three year old Governor is by Border Rory A36 and out of Haven Splendour 23rd.

Intermediate male champion was Church Preen Haka from Andrew Owen, he is another by Royal Welsh Show champion Hermitage Commando. Standing Reserve to Haka was Clipston Storm M16 from breed stalwarts Rodney and Rosemary Westaway, Clipston Herefords, Leicestershire.

In the senior female championship, Lesley Jackson’s six year old show cow Bugwood Gossip came to the fore. Standing reserve to Gossip was Mara Diadem 25 bred and exhibited by R and M Borwick, Northamptonshire.

And in the junior females the championship went to Andrew Owen with 11 month old Church Preen Lindy Loo J34 again by Hermitage Commando. In reserve place was Gomer Clara J6 from T Amery, Carmarthenshire.
