A bid of 2800gns is the best of the day in the Suffolks at Carlisle, with this call coming for the overall champion from the pre-sale show, a ram lamb from John Gibb’s Cairnton flock. This one, KLR 12:025, is by Thurston Grand Diamond and out of a dam by Roundacre Rockstar. He goes back to Cairness Ninety Nine and sold to R Lawrence, Winkleigh, Devon.
Following him at 2500gns was a tup lamb from Mark Evans’ Jubilee flock, Y31 12:070. Sired by Strathisla Seville, he is out of a dam by Everton Forever and goes back to Didcot Dominator. He was knocked down to R Gray, Lanark.
Then making 1800gns was a shearling tup from Hazel Martindale. This one, from the Landale flock, KFD 11:106 is Landale Bombadier and is by Landale Black Magic and out of a dam by Cairness Rossi. Having stood first in its class in Carlisle it was knocked down to I Spedding, Bishop Aukland, Co Durham.
Two then shared a call of 1200gns, the first of which was a Broomknowes Kelso the Best son from Myfyr Evans, A12 12:101. This is out of a dam by Rhaeadr Rossi and goes back to Cairness Thunder II and sold to Jimmy Douglas, Aberdeenshire, while the other at that money was LHH:12.014 from Darren Jones, a Cairness Liam son out of a Muiresk King of Diamonds daughter. Buyer here was S D White, Hexham, Northumberland.
Just shy of that price tag at 1100gns was one from Mark Evans Y31: 12: 065, a Strathisla Seville ram lamb out of a Strathisla Shirocco daughter. This one was knocked down to S J Buckley, Buxton, Derbyshire.
