Ahead of the start of the main Texel sales next week James Wilkinson of Messrs Wilkinson Bros’ Ballygroogan flock has secured a new sire for the 2012 season having bought Mullan Tycoon, a Mullan Supremacy son, from Brian Hanthorn in a private deal.
Tycoon, a full brother to lambs heading for both next week’s Ballymena sale and the following week’s Scottish National Texel sale at Lanark, is out of HBN 100002, an ET bred daughter of Brague Nixon which is a full sister to Mullan Photogenic and also a sister sold for 4600gns.
Mr Wilkinson said he was delighted to have secured Tycoon for the Ballygroogan flock and looked forward to his progeny next year. “He’s a top drawer lamb and is bred from some exceptional lines which will complement our females well.”
