The dispersal of the Haydon flock of Bleu du Maines led the Bleu trade here at Carlisle today with a 2006-bon ewe selling at 1400gns. This was a daughter of Alfie out of a Hastings Viper daughter (lot 1555).
Then at 850gns was another from Haydon, a 2010-born ewe by a Langley sire and out of a dam by Gerard. At 750gns and the best priced shearling ewe of the sale was another from Haydon, a Churchbridge Warrior daughter out of the sale leader (lot 1562).
In the tups the best call was an 800gns bid for Calla King Kong, a ram lamb from William Baillie. This one is by Calla Jumping Jack and out of Calla Gemma, a Cysgod Daniel daughter. And making 780gns was a Langley tup lamb (lot 1535) by a Tighnahinch sire and out of a Randalstown Frenzy daughter.
Best of the shearling tups was Calla Junior (lot 1512), a son of Maximim Hawk Eye out of a Langley Cannon daughter at 750gns. And in the Millenium Bleu tups the top was 880gns paid for Aintree Jackknife from Richard Pilkington. He’s by and Aintree sire and out of a Langley Charlie Boy daughter.
