Thainstone trade is now topping at £5600 for the autumn champion (lot 59) a Limousin cross heifer from Monzie Farms. This one was champion at Alyth and reserve at Fife and now heads to Aileen Ritchie, Whitecairns.
Just prior to that Ian Anderson secured the 400kg Charolais cross heifer (lot 58) from the Durno family at £2350. This one is by Thrunton Explosive out of a Limousin cross dam.
At £1750 was a Spittalton Barty son out of a British Blue x Limousin dam from Messrs Hendry (lot 61). This one is full brother to the Alford family’s Royal Highland Show champion Smarty Pants.
Just after that Monzie Farms sold their reserve senior bullock, P U Lawson, for £2200 to Aileen Ritchie. This one is by Windsole Chancer and out of a British Blue x Angus dam.
A Shatton Pedro sired steer from Barry Patterson (lot 70) has just gone at £2200 to the judge Paul Barwood. This one is out of a Lim cross dam.
Of the haltered baby bullocks, the best call so far is £2000 for a Limousin cross from J Munro and Son. This one is by Bailea Cavalier out of a Blue cross and was reserve champion at Black Isle.
