Is this beast good enought to win scottish winter fair ??? If not let me no as I only have saw the pictures ?

Hang on a min cattle man and undisclosed buyer – don’t think I ever knocked her as a heifer – in the pic she looks an almighty beast and one I’d love to have on my team and I’m not taking anything away from the breeder, all I’m saying is going as undisclosed at public auction is a bit of a joke – if you don’t want folk knowing what you pay for stuff or for what ever reason buy from home privately….and as for undisclosed buyer I see you didn’t put your own name to your post either!!

Yea I never ment that you knocked her as a beast all I was saying that it’s not people right to no who bought her bar the man who signs the cheque so yea everyone will find eventually but maybe he just wants to keep it on the down low as talk and gossip can hurt as I no

Haha! some of these comments are an absolute joke!! I congratulate the “undisclosed buyer” of this calf, firstly for buying a smashing calf and secondly for causing so much contraversy! I know who the “undisclosed buyer” is and i want to wish them all the luck in the world! I never read so many comments that have been written through jealousy and nosiness! You could spend your money on worse things than a calf, after all you can’t take it with you when you go! If you went out and bought a new kitchen for your house or a new jeep to drive for instance would you go onto a sight and write comments about how much it was, its too bloody dear or you were embarrased to buy it??? Catch a grip on reality, the calf has been bought and the cheque signed, and quite frankly its nobodys business!

  Firstly, congratulations to the McLarens for breeding such a great calf and secondly well done to whoever has signed the cheque and has her in their show team for the winter circuit. She looks like she’ll take some stopping at the major shows, assuming that is she’s been bought to show. I do though have to question the need for buyers to be undisclosed in the cattle world when the stock are either bought to breed or to show. Surely the point of buying top drawer stock is to sell their progeny (or semen or embryos) or, in the case if crossbreds to show them, and reap the resultant rewards. In both these instances you need/want people to know you own them to get the aforementioned rewards.

  That said, of course we at Farming Eye fully respect the decision of buyers not to publicise their purchases and look forward to seeing Ginger Bread out on the show circuit in due course and wish her new owners the very best of luck with her.

she was 486kg should be good weight for xmas 550-580 kg

if this beast was as outstanding as the price tag,and all the talk suggests,then why wasnt it champion?

  its that one person that is judging on the days opinion as to what they like but 9 out of 10 people would have put her champion and i always say the price will always determin which one was the best!!

The heifer you are all refering to i can confirm has been purchased by Team Alford!

The reason for puchasing this heifer was.
Unfortunetly (Pokerface who you will all know) belonged to Charlotte she died earlier in the year leaving a big gap too fill. She left Charlotte a super steer calf PokerPrince who she will show next summer as he is to young for this year.

In Charlottes eyes Pokerface can never be replaced, but we hope OFF THE CLOCK !!
will give her as much FUN (isent that what its all about) as Pokerface did and Mike & myself as much pleasure seeing her show her as poker did & hopefully breed her another Pokerface.

I hope this put an end to all the gossip

Regarding the comment about the judge and nine out of ten people would have put the calf champion.l would say most cattle judges would have put it champion

Can i ask why the name has been changed or am i reading things wrong – Off the Clock was Gringer bread
