A good clearance in all categories of Lleyns was seen at Thainstone with 100% of the ewe lambs sold and the rams seeing a 90% clearance.

The champion females was awarded by judge Pamela Ritchie to W and N Lawrence, Blackpots, with their pen of shearling ewes which went on to sell for the female top price of £175 a head to L Cruden, Dyce.  Messrs Lawrence then sold three pens for £152 a head and £150 a head twice to A Logie, Turriff.  Laga Farms Ltd, Orkney, sold their third prize pen for £145 a head to R W Fraser and Son, Bonnykelly.

In the ewe lamb section J Riddell and Co, Nether Coullie, sold their first prize pen for £94 a head and later sold a pen for £80 a head to J C A Sharp, Alford. The second prize pen from Messrs Henderson and MacLeod, Stonehaven, sold for £76 a head to G A Clubb, Ellon.

Messrs Lawrence continued their run of form topping the ram section selling a shearling ram bred from a homebred sire for 600gns to A M Irvine, Huntley, while Messrs Henderson and MacLeod sold a J Kingan sired ram for 510gns to Drummuir Home, Keith.  The champion ram from Laga Farms Ltd bred from a Derek Steen sire sold for 500gns to J Riddell and Co, while  W and N Lawrence also sold for 500gns to J and A Strathdown, Huntley.
