Trade for Charolais cattle in Stirling is currently topping at 9500gns for the dispersal of Lucy Poett’s Harviestoun herd in the form of the March 2004-born Harviestoun Vanilla, a Lochend Rasper daughter out of the Guiting Geronimo daughter Harviestoun Laroche. Next best at 5200gns was Barochan Trinket, an April 2002-born Barochan Petral daughter out of the Criffel Vainqueur daughter Thrunton Hostess. She sold to Whittaker Farms.
Just before that, the January 2001-born Harviestoun Snowdrop, who is out of Rushmore Clover and by Harivestoun Marseille has gone at 4200gns to Messrs Leary. This one is a Ravensowrth Unwin son.
Leading trade for heifers with calves at foot so far is the January 2009-born Harviestoun Ecosse, a Ravensworth Unwin daughter who sold with her Talisman calf at foot for 5200gns to Neil Caul. This was then followed with a call of 4000gns for Harviestoun Elsa, a Harviestoun Bermuda daughter.
Two bids of 5000gns then followed, the first of which secured Harviestoun Eliza, a Ravensworth Unwin daughter, which sold to Messrs Hepburn, the second of which was Harviestoun Ember, another Unwin daughter which was knocked down to Airdlin.
