Leading prices in the second half of today’s sale at Welshpool was a bull from the Jerman family. This was Glangwden Goldmine (lot 88), a Woodhouse Custer son out of Glangwden Bandale, a Haltcliffe Ullswater daughter. He sold with a beef value of +32 to Michael Owens at 8200gns.

Then at 7000gns was Glangwden Gerry (lot 91), another son of Custer out of Glangwden Dewdrop, another Ullswater daughter. He has a beef value of +28.

Selling for 6400gns was Janos Geraldine (lot 36). Sired by noted show calf producer Rossignol she is out of 8000gns cow Corridan Voyage. This one sold to P J Jones and Son.

And then making 5500gns was Glangwden Ghurka, another of the Jermans’ bulls. this Custer son is out of Glangwden Anika, a Soleil daughter. He sold to Messrs Jones as above.

Finding a new home at 5200gns was Lowerffrydd Gem (lot 50). This one is a Cloughhead Umpire daughter out of Corridan Vivid, a Grahams Samson daughter and was snapped up by A J Heath.

Close behind at 4800gns was Glangwden Goldboy from the Jermans. He’s a son of Haltcliffe Ullswater out of Glangwden Baby, a Glangwden Votex daughter and sold with a beef value of +31 to show calf breeder Andrew Powell.

At the same money was Lowerffrydd Foxy Lady (lot 106), a Goldies Champion daughter from the Lowerffrydd Charolais herd. This is out of Lowerffrydd Dingaling, a Kilcullen Ted daughter and sold to J A Williams.
