Lleyns sold to an unsurpassed demand at Carmarthen last week, with averages up in every section and a 100% clearance in the ewes on offer.
And the rams recorded a 100% clearance rate too, selling to a top of 1120gns for the second prize ram from W J and D J Williams. The first prize ram from Helen Wells then sold for 800gns and the third prize ram from Wynne Davies made 600gns.
In the shearling ewes the top call of the day went to Helen Wells with her first prize pen which sold for £250/head, while Lionel Organ sold at £235 and £230 and Dewi Ellis sold at £225. W J and D J Williams had the only entry in the older ewes selling their three year olds for £140/head.
The ewe lamb section was also strong with half of the lots sold for more than £100/head. The top price went to T and J Rees at £128/head. J and R Twose sold at £125/head for the second prize pen followed by D and C Morris selling for £120/head. W J and D J Williams sold their first prize pen for £118/head.
