Ayrshires sold to a top of 3500gns twice at Beeston on Friday in the dispersal of Alan Coutts’ Knutsford herd, with the first at this level being Knutsford Flo 179, a McCornick Nelson daughter sold dry and due with her third to Jelyca Oblique. This one was knocked down to Garnett Farms, Knutsford.
Also at this figure was the top milking heifer Knutsford Pansy 243, a daughter of the much admired Knutsford White Flash and who had been calved two months. She now joins the Willhome Herd of P G and S Williams, Leweston Camrose, Haverfordwest.
Not far behind at 3250gns was the very flashy heifer Knutsford Flo 198, a daughter of Ardmore Crown Napier had calved in May and had been PD’d in‐calf to Thunder Van De Wilg for next May. She was purchased by David Gibson of Millers Dale, Buxton.
The only other to hit the 3000gns mark was the Rampage‐Red daughter, Knutsford Pansy 217, a cow due with her third in January to Nexus Dreamer. She was purchased by Steve Bailey, Audlem.
Then at 2800gns was Knutsford Flo 188, a second calf daughter of Chatter T Red that sold to D B and C A Walters, Carmarthen.
A further 12 milkers sold for 2000 gns or more, while the in‐calf heifers were in great demand and sold to a top of 2200 gns twice; the first at this price was the White Flash daughter, Knutsford Polly 30 who was one of six in‐calf heifers sold to Bremridge Farm, Crediton, Devon.
The other at this price was Knutsford Vary 55, a daughter of Brieryside Jubilant Scot that sold to Chris and Lisa Window, Hunnington, Worcestershire.
