Topping Tuesday’s Limousin sale at Bristol was Broadoak Galahad from C F Richens. This Fieldson Alfy son is out of Broadoak Blossom, a Mynach Tzar daughter and sold to an undisclosed Cumbrian buyer at 3400gns.
Next in line was Stourhead General, a March 2011-born bull by Utha from Messrs Parker. This one is out of Stourhead Tansy, a Stourhead October daughter and sold at 2650gns to B A and C Godwin and Sons, Limpley Stoke.
Second best of the day was a 2300gns bid for Quaish Princess from David and Anne Wheeler. This Djerk daughter is a 1999-born ninth calver out of Broadmeadows Governess, a Broadmeadows David daughter and sold to M and Se Edwards, Congresbury, at 2300gns.
And selling at 2100gns was the best from the Timberlands herd reduction of Colin Philips. This was Timberlands Copperbeech, a 2007-born second calver by Tunnelby Ugolimo. She is out of Timberlands Aspen, a Glenrock Officer daughter and was bought by W O and V Dibdin, Fordingbridge.
Following her at 2000gns was another from the Wheelers, Rahoney Starlight, a 2001-born Tanat Mostyn daughter out of Rahoney Maxine a Shire Ferdinand daughter. She sold with a bull calf at foot to T W G Bartlett and Son, Weymouth.
Averages; one bull £2650, four cows served and/or suckling £2073.75, one heifer served and/or suckling £1785, five maiden heifers £1197. Timberlands herd; eight cows and heifers served and/or suckling £1614.38, 10 served and maiden heifers £1191.75, four young bulls £1055.25 (Harrison and Hetherington).
