Taking the top call of 4500gns at today’s Solway and Tyne Texel Club sale at Carlisle was a ram lamb from Allan Clark’s Finevalley flock.

This was Finevalley Triple Crown, a Cambwell Spy son out of  a dam by Midlock Omega. He sold to Messrs Wilkinson, Aspatria.

Following him at 2100gns was a lamb from the Arkle flock which saw Messrs Wilkinson recoup some of their earlier outlay. This son of Cambwell Rob Roy is out of  a dam by Ellen Valley Nugget. This sold to D A Thomson, Morpeth.

Then making 1500gns was the best of the shearlings from the Millars. This was Crookholm Scoop, a son of Crookholm Royal Athlete out of a dam by Douganhill Lawman. He was snapped up by Allan Clark.

And leading the females at 1000gns was a gimmer from the Nethertown flock of Janice MacTaggart. This Claybury Powerpacker daughter is out of a dam by Knock Oregano and sold to R Teward and Son, Darlington.

A pair then sold at 900gns, with the first being the day’s female and overall champion from Douganhill Farms. This was a Fachell Pistol Pete daughter out of a dam by Hull House Ma Man and was also bought by Messrs Teward. The same buyers then took the other at this money, with this being a Rascarell gimmer from Tom MacTaggart. She is by Didcot Record and out of a dam by Mattadale On Top.

Averages; 61 shearling ewes £429.81, two aged rams £577.50, 38 shearling rams £421.38, 100 ram lambs £406.98 (Harrison and Hetherington).
