The last sale of the season for Lleyn breeders saw trade top at 1700gns at Skipton for a ram from H and M Dugdale, Settle, which was by a Lynda Jenkinson sired ram which had stood third in the pre sale show. This one was knocked down to P Weaver, Newark.
Messrs E and D Jones, Machynlleth, were next to top with 1250gns for a homebred sired ram which sold to Christine Thompson, Helmsley. The Jones sold their second ram for 950gns to A F Hodsman. The champion ram Brighton House Ambassador from T and B Fort, Keighley sold for 900gns to A Robinson, Wetherby.
Messrs W J and D J Williams, Pwllheli, had a particularly good day topping the shearling ewe and ewe lamb section. Mr Williams first prize shearling ewes realised £240 a head when selling to J Kingan, Dumfries, while D Alexander, Ayrshire, sold a two pens for £200 and £190 to N Speake, Oakworth.
In the ewe lamb section W J and D J Williams then realised £130 a head when selling to M Kinnes, Driffield, while the first prize pen from T and B Fort sold for £125 a head to the same buyer. A W Davies, Pwllheli, sold a pen for £120 a head to G Morton and Sons, Hull, while Farmstock Genetics, Selkirk, sold their second prize pen for £120 a head to M Kinnes.
