Following on from this morning’s early trading news from the Blackface tup lamb sale at Lanark, prices have now reached a high of £60,000. Midlock saw a whopping trade averaging £11,362 for eight lambs sold. The £60,000 was paid for a son of £26,000 Dachirla, out of a mother by ‘X-Factor’. He sold in a three way split to Connachan, Dalwyne and Troloss.

Following that another from Midlock sold at £11,000 to Nunnerie. He is by a home-bred son of £90,000 Dalchirla that sold yesterday for £3200 and out of a mother by a home-bred son of £8000 Crossflatt.

Blackhouse saw a top of £26,000 for a son of £65,000 Auldhouseburn. He is out of a £15,000 Allanfauld mother and sold to Craigdarroch, Crosswoodhill and Mitchellhill.

Paying £20,000 for the best from the Troloss pen were Finglen, Lurg and McKenna, N.I. Their purchase is by a £2300 Connachan sire.

At £8000 was one from the Campbells of Easter Happrew. Sired by £65,000 Auldhouseburn this one was shared by Milnmark and Cairnzean.

Nunnerie’s best was £8500 for a son of £6000 Elmscleugh selling to Allanfauld, Burnhead and Drumnessie. Another went on to sell at £6500 to Chirmorrie, he is by £50,000 Pole.

Greenside sold to a top of £6000 for a son of  ’The Rocket’, to Auldhouseburn.
