Yesterday’s show and sale of commercial steers and heifers at Middleton in Teesdale saw an entry of 217 with averages up across the board by £17.21 to level at £912.32.
Sale leader was the overall champion, a Limousin cross heifer from Messrs R W Makepeace, Fellowship Farm which sold at £1720 to J L White and Son.
The next best were two trading at £1390, the first of which was for the first prize steer, a British Blue cross from J W and E A Watson which sold to J S and J O Dodd, while the second prize heifer and reserve champion from J C and J White, Rigg Farm was knocked down to J L White and Son.
Then changing hands at £1280 was the third prize heifer from the White’s again, this time selling to C A and J G Skidmore.
