It’s been a long few days for the MacGregor Photography girls, but here’s the gallery from the last week of the Stirling Bull Sales which saw the Simmental UK record shattered and an amazing show of Charolais bulls followed by a solid trade from start to finish.

Well that’s us wrapping up what can only be described as a truly amazing few days trade in Stirling. Trade for Charolais bulls has been phenomonal today with 33 bulls selling for 10,000gns and above and a record average of £7653 for 168 bulls sold. With 202 forward that’s a clearance rate of 83% and believed to be a record centre average for all breeds.

The MacGregor Photography team have been rushed off their feet today photographing bulls so we’ll bring you pictures as soon as possible, in the mean time Jonathan and I are off for a breather before we attempt the long run home!

Kicking off female Charolais trade with a call of 2800gns is Messrs Christie with Westcarse Fifi, a January 2010-born heifer by Kersknowe Clansman out of the Lochnagar Imperator daughter Westcarse Valerie.

The Claymore dispersal is ticking away around the 1400-1900gns mark with the sale leader so far coming in the form of Claymore China, an April 2007-born daughter of Moyness Vivacious out of a Moyness Polonium daughter.

Will Short has just sold another from his Woodpark herd at 6800gns. This was Woodpark Flint, a Knockane Collen son out of Woodpark Barbie, a Rumsden Tsar daughter and has a TSI of +45 and an SRI of +38. He went to Mr Watkins, Wales.

Then Brampton Fandango from Billy Turner went at 7000gns. This Trefonnen Crouch son is out of Brampton Dixie, a Brampton Brigadier daughter.

A run of lower priced bulls followed before Messrs Wight sold Midlock Fix at 11,000gns. This one (lot 494) is by Maerdy Domino and out of Midlock Babs, an Inverlochy Upbeat daughter and went to Greystoke Farms, Cumbria, with a TSI of +37 and an SRI of +33.

And late in the sale The Irvine family sold Inverlochy Forward at 6500gns. This Resolve son is out of Inverlochy Alice, a Rumsden Samurai daughter. He has a TSI of +47, an SRI of +53 and has the highest eye muscle figure in the catalogue at +6.5.

And that’s wrapped up trading here in the Charolais bulls today, we’ve not got an average yet, but we’ll get one to you just as soon as we can.

Esmor Evans has struggled to get a number of his bulls away so far today, but has just seen Meardy Fiend (lot 466) sell at 12,000gns. A son of Victorieux he is out of Maerdy Variole, a Grangwood Soprano daughter. This one has a TSI of +27 and an SRI of +33. He went to Robert Crawford.

At 5000gns was Hendy Formidable (lot 470). This is by Killadeas Contact and out of Mynyddog Siwan, a Major daughter.

Taking a 14,000gns bid was Balthayock Fearless from the Walters. This Balthayock Adonis son is out of Balthayock Unknown, a Mortimers Roselier daughter and has a TSI of +63 and an SRI of +60.

And immediately after that came Blelack Fantastic at 12,000gns. Sired by Goldies Dynamite this is out of Blelack Babe,a  Thrunton Socrates daughter. He went with a TSI of +82 and an SRI of +72 to Mr Adams.

The money keeps on coming, with a 10,000gns sale for the Campbells when they sold Thrunton Frederick, a Bigal son out of Thrunton Bunty, a Solwayfirth Union daughter.

Another from the same home then went at 6000gns. This was Thrunton Freelander a Talisman son out of Thrunton Unity, a Mowbraypark Orlando daughter. He has a TSI of +41 and an SRI of +46.

Another Corrie Alan son from Will Short then made 6500gns. This was Woodpark Fearless (lot 459). This one is out of Woodpark Sparkle, a Doonally New daughter. He has a TSI of +39 and an SRI of +36.

Next up is Mike Massie again with Elrick Foreigner (lot 436), a Maerdy Dublin son out of the Blelack Nextnews daughter Elrick Rosemary. With a TSI of +50 and a SRI of +43, he was knocked down at 9000gns.

And just before that Mike got one of his previous bulls away at 5000gns. Elrick Floyd (lot 435) is again by Dublin and is out of a Blelack Roger daughter Elrick Unice.

Selling for 6000gns was Peter Vasey with Edenhurst Festival (lot 437). Homebred on both sides this one is by Edenhurst Festival and is out of a Hofmeister daughter and straight after that Bob and Kay Adam were back in selling Newhouse Festin (lot 438), a Sackville Claudius son out of a blelack Rustic daughter.

The first of the day from Mike Massie, Elrick Fable, has just sold at 12,000gns. This Maerdy Dublin son is out of Elrick Vanity, a Blelack Roger daughter and has a TSI of +41 and an SRI of +37.

Next to take good money after that was Falleninch Flintoff from Andrew Flintoff (lot 427). Sired by Falleninch Bigboy he is out of Balbithan Voile, a Baggrave Minstrel daughter and has a TSI of +41 and an SRI of +30. He went at 6000gns to Stephen Wilson, Westerhill.

Mike Massie’s next, Elrick Frenchman, another Dublin son then also sold at 12,000gns. He is out of Elrick Centrefold, another Roger daughter and has a TSI of +53 and an SRI of +51. He was knocked down to Firhills and Mornity.
