Colin Hutchings has now completed his class judging here at Stirling and is working away on his champions. In the penultimate class the winner was Idvies Juror Eric (lot 363). A son of Lockerley Legolas he is out of Idvies Juana Erica, an Eastfield Eddie daughter. Second place went to Castlegate Barack (lot 367). This son of Balsar Buccaneer is out of Castlegate Barbara is a Drumcrow Proud Peacock daughter. In third was Wrae Bucking Broncho (lot 361), he’s a son of Lorabar Rob Roy and out of Wrae Bonnie Bethany, a Lord Stockton X48 of Tullyfergus daughter.

The final class of junior bulls was won by Retties Lord Rufus (lot 371). Sired by Blackhaugh Extra Premium, he is out of Viester Lady Rhonda, a Transformer daughter. The second prize ticket here went to Glassel Bonnie Boy (lot 374). A son of Wedderlie Kansas, he is out of Wedderlie Bonnie Lass,  an Aynho Rossiter Eric daughter and in third here was Wedderlie Ergo (lot 379). This son of Perkhill Eagle is out of Wedderlie Eremo, a Wedderlie Black Boss daughter.

We’re nearing the end of the bulls here in Stirling, with another brace of junior classes under Colin Hutchings belt. In the fourth last class of the day the winner was another of the Eastfield bulls by Rochester, Eastfield Justy. This one is out of Eastfield Java, a Halbeath King Kong daughter. Second place went to Netherton Mr Admiral (lot 343). He’s a son of Ardrossan Admiral and is out of Netherton Missie, a Samurai daughter.

Third to him was Skaill Doubletake, another Nightingale Proud Jake son out of Skaill Diana G669, another of the famous Diana line from Colin Davidson.

In the next class the winner was Netherton Fusilier, this is a son of 36,000gns sire Mr Eshton out of Netherton Fleur, a Cruz daughter . The second spot in this class went to Jerusalem Dante (lot 354). Sired by homebred bull Jerusalem Dartagnan he is out of Jerusalem Diana, a Jerusalem Faraday daughter. And third place here went to Haymount Wager (lot 357). A Bardrain Eiger son he is out of Haymount Wevona, a Blelack Evor daughter.

Colin Hutchings has got away through the bulls this morning and is now working his way through the junior classes, with the first two classes completed.

Taking the first of the junior classes was Skaill Dido (lot 319). This Nightingale Proud Jake son is out of Skaill Diana E285, a Blelack Blackstock daughter. Second to him was Hallington Knight (lot 311), sired by Hallington Knight, he is out of Hallington Princess, a Blelack Prince Consort daughter. And in third was Cheeklaw Black Burley (lot 320). A son of Easton Greys Joseph Eric he is out of Cheeklaw Black Bunty, a Tweedside Jewgal daughter and was another of our choices from last night.

The second junior class was won by Cardona Jewot Eric (lot 332), a son of Blelack Prince Conqueror he is out of Cardona Jewot Erica, a Lochdhu Elfking daughter. Then in second place was Cardona Jerriot (lot 323), another by Conqueror and out of Cardona Jenon, a Cudlobe Yellowstone daughter. The third prize ticket in this class went to Hallington Evolution (lot 329), he is a son of Nightingale Defiance and out of Hallington Ebolass, a Blelack Klansman daughter.

The final three intermediate bull classes have now been completed here at Stirling, with class 12 won by Eastfield Jacobite (lot 271). Another of our picks from the lines last night, he is by Rawburn Rochester and out of Eastfield Jess, a Ballathie Editor daughter.

Standing second to him was Flodden Earl Samuel (lot 263). This son of Wrae Baker Boy is out of Flodden Evita Samantha, an Auchincrieve Ericson daughter. Third in this class was Duncanziemere Evasion (lot 273), this Karlos son is out of Duncanziemere Edwina, a Rawburn Transformer daughter.

In the next class the winner was another of the Eastfield bulls, Eastfield Black Buddy (lot 286). Sired by Rochester again he is out of Eastfield Blackbird, an Eastfield Falcon daughter. Second in here was Haymount Willinger (lot 292). This is a son of Bardrain Eiger out of Haymount Wavor, a Blelack Evor daughter, then taking third spot was Carruthers Elboy (lot 293). This is a son of Newcairnie Pastor out of Carruthers Eleanor, an HF Dreamstreet daughter.

And the final intermediate class was won by yet another Rochester son in the form of Eastfield Foreman (lot 299). He is out of Eastfield Fawina, a Lockerley Kruz daughter. In second was Cardona Potter (lot 305), this Blelack Prince Conqueror son is out of Cardona Palava, a Lockerley Eastern Cruz daughter. Then the third spot went to Duncanziemere Emperor (lot 295). This is another Karlos son out of Duncanziemere Extasy, a Newcairnie Pastor daughter.

We’re moving on through the bull classes here this morning, with the eighth and ninth classes of bulls completed now (classes 10 and 11).

In class 10 the winner was Caldwell Rosa Ethelred (lot 243). This Penguin Jock son is out of Caldwell Rosa Erica, a Idvies Blade daughter. He has a TSI of +35 and an SRI of +42. Second was Skaill Decision (lot 250), this is sired by Nightingale Proud Jake and is out of Skaill Diana, a Blelack Blackstock daughter. And in third spot was Ballathie Beckam (lot 251). A son of Rawburn Elmo he is out of Ballathie Brunette, a Blelack Evolution daughter.

The next class was won by Cairnton Evolution (lot 261). This Blelack Kanasta Lad son is out of Cairnton Evora a Blelack Evergreat daughter. Second spot went to Flodden Blackbob (lot 255). This one is sired by Blelack Rossiter and is out of Blelack Blackbird, a Nightingale Defiance daughter.

In third place here was Tonley Petrov (lot 266).  He is an Ankonian Elixir son out of Tonley Princess, a daughter of the muscle throwing sire Royal Added Value.

With Coling Hutchings moving through the classes swiftly here at Stirling this morning, we’re getting in to some of the stronger classes in the intermediate bulls now.

Taking the honours in the next class of bulls here (class eight) was Glassel Duke (lot 211). This Wedderlie Kansas son is out of Glassel Diamond Knight, a Blelack Knight daughter and has a TSI of +34 and an SRI of +43. Taking the second prize ticket was Jerusalem Walk On (lot 213). Sired by Blelack Blacksmith he is out of Jerusalem Wavura, a Cardona Eagle daughter. Standing below this one in third was Carhurlie Demonio, this is by Canadian sire Royal Stockman and out of Carhurlie Dusk, a Samurai daughter.

With Colin Hutchings making fast work of the bull classes it looks like being a quick round of judging here today, obviously someone mentioned lunch was at 1230!

In the third class of bulls the winner was Netherton Kingpin (lot 183). This The Moss Mr Eshton son is out of Netherton Karama, a The Moss Florian daughter. In second was Logan Bar Discover (lot 180). Sired by Ballathie Malibu he is out of Logan Bar Diana, a Young Dale Touch Down daughter.

Third in this class was Blelack Kentucky Lad (lot 186), he’s by Netherallan Peter Pershore and out of Blelack Karama Lady, a Blelack Blackstock daughter.

And in the fourth bull class of the day Colin found his winner in the form of Glenbuchat Bruce (lot 192A). This one, which isn’t in the main catalogue is by Deveron Latimer and out of Dacre Bashful, a Lockerley Kind Princess daughter. Second to him was Wedderlie Black Rod (lot 190), this is a Lorabar Jasper Eric son out of Wedderlie Black Bonnet, a Tui Bon daughter.

Taking the third spot in this class was Blelack Lord Hudson (lot 191), another of our picks from last night. This Peter Pershore son is out of Blelack Lady Heather, a G D A Universe daughter.

The next class was won by Castlegate Exocet (lot 202), a Balsar Buccaneer son out of Idvies Euxetter, a Castle Of Mey Elscot daughter, he has a TSI of +27 and an SRI of +38. Second in this class went to Rawburn Encore (lot 203). Sired by Rawburn Enigma, he is out of Rawburn Ellie, a Wedderlie Netmark daughter. Following on in third spot was Balmachie Black Watch (lot 210), a Netherton Big Edition son out of Netherton Blackbird, a Netherton Lord Jock daughter.

In the first of the senior bull classes here at Stirling the res ticket went to one of our picks from the lines last night, Wedderlie Net Result (lot 164). This Wedderlie Black Beau son is out of Wedderlie Netfast, a Tui Blackmark daughter and has a TSI of +27 and an SRI of +28.

Second to him was Auldhouseburn Fenoble (lot 153). Sired by Auldhouseburn Karlos, he is out of Auldhouseburn Fennella, a Duncanzienmere Judge daughter. And in third was Inkstack Faroah (lot 154). This one is by Ankonian Elixir and out of Inkstack Flhame.

In the second bull class of the day the winner was Balmachie Fearless (lot 176). This Balmachie Kiwi Sam son is out of Balmachie Frances, a Dalrene Cruz daughter and has a TSI of +22 and an SRI of +21.

Standing in second was Billinge Magic Justorm Eric (lot 165). He is by 36,000gns sire The Moss Mr Eshton and out of Mosston Muir Josephine Erica, a Warrenho Emperor daughte. Third to him was Idvies Evolution (lot 174). He’s a Rawburn Rommel son out of Idvies Evora, a Castle of Mey Elscot daughter.

The first of this week’s championships has been decided here at Stirling, with the Aberdeen-Angus championship going to Carhurlie Fondare K784 from Ray Grieve. This Penguin Eldorado daughter is out of Carhurlie Forth F535, a Blelack Blackstock daughter. She has a TSI of +34 and an SRI of +41.

Reserve champion was the second placed heifer from the first class Belhaven Jenny Wren K251 from John and Teena Gilmour. She’s a Rawburn Rommel E423 daughter out of Penguin Jestress E209, a Jeremy Eric of Bridgefoot daughter.

First place in the second class of heifers went to Mosston Muir Estrella L279 from Alan Rennie. Sired by Mosston Muir Innes, she is out of Mosston Muir Estrella F139, a Mosston Muir El Krugerand daughter.

Second in this class was Duncanziemere Jill from Alistair Clark. She is by Auldhouseburn Karlos and out of Duncanziemere Jill H304, a Wrae Big Brother daughter.

Third in this class was Foxley Wood Peggy L173 from Chris Page. She’s by Deveron Ellington out of Cambria Peggy B148. Third in the first class was Haughton Laura K001 from Whittaker Farms, this is a Beeston Predator daughter out of Lockerley Laura D444.

You’ll be pleased to know the Farming Eye team are here and raring to go for the first week of the Stirling Bull Sales, with the Aberdeen-Angus, Beef Shorthorns and Limousins dominating proceedings this week.

As ever for this week the mart here is buzzing with anticipation of the trade and having had a good walk through the bulls we’ve seen a few which are looking like being in and among it when it comes to sale day. Today has of course seen the Angus inspection take place and a few noted breeders have had bulls rejected, but that’s the way it goes with bull sales.

First of the picks for us in the pens this evening (in catalogue order) was Wedderlie Net Result (lot 164). This Wedderlie Black Beau son is out of Wedderlie Netfast, a Tui Blackmark daughter which has a TSI of +27 and an SRI of +28.

Next to catch our eye was Blelack Lord Hudson (lot 191). This Netherallan Peter Pershore son is out of Blelack Lady Heather W63, a G D A Universe daughter and has a TSI of +41 and an SRI of +52. He’s a cousin of former champion Blelack Lord Hildago and should be on a few pedigree buyers’ lists.
